General description

Introduction to different technologies and devices of digital printing, terminology. Different types of inks used in digital printing, functional inks etc. Pre- and post-processing of printed materials. Software and file types used for design and printing. Printed image resolution, colorimetry.
Field of application. Sustainability and resource efficiency of digital printing.

General aim

To provide an overview of the development of modern printing and finishing technologies for textiles, which highlight the aspect of sustainability, resource efficiency in the process and the adaptation of customer-based production.

Aim

The student knows the different technologies of digital printing based on the devices. Can analyze the capabilities of existing technical solutions and choose the most functional among them to achieve high-quality digital printing on textile materials and products.
