Subject 'Geodesy III'Name in Estonian: Geodeesia III
General descriptionGeodetic intersection (solution classically and also with the Jung's and Gauss's formulas) and geodetic resection; an accuracy assessment of survey points. The Hansen’s formula; the Kadner’s formula. An eccentric angle measurement. Open traverse. Adjustment of polygons using the Popov's method. Conical and cylindrical map projections. Estonian coordinate systems; geographic and plane rectangular coordinates.
Classification and development of total stations. Application of total stations: configuration of total stations, managing data files, instrument orientation methods, surveying points, staking out, traverse survey. General aimThe objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge about geodetic control network calculations and about geodetic resection and intersection calculations. An overview is provided of map projections and distortions of projections. Compile a portfolio of example calculations.
AimHaving successfully passed the course, the student:
1. Is able to carry out resection and intersection calculations with accuracy assessment; 2. Is able to carry out geodetic control network calculations; 3. Knows map projections and carry out cartometric measurements Form descriptionLectures, seminars, practical classes, group work, independent work.
