General description

Project organization. Project manager. Project team. Project means. Project stages. Finishing of the project, assessment and analysis of final results. Logistics project. Types of logistics projects – transport project, warehouse project, inventory management project, project of selling and outsourcing integrated logistics services. Features of logistics projects. Preplanning of logistics projects. Plan of a logistics project.

The student will compose a project in one of the following fields:
• Outsourcing of integrated logistics services
• Supplying of integrated logistics services
• Logistics information system development project
• Warehouse planning project
• Inventory management and product assortment planning project
• Purchasing/sourcing project
• Logistics customer service development project
• Logistics cost accounting system planning project
• Logistics quality systems planning/development project

General aim

1. To give students knowledge about how to start a logistics project, how to implement and finish it
2. To give students knowledge and skills about how to compose a logistics project and how to implement it in the company.

Aim

The student knows
• types, content, tasks and objectives of logistics projects
• logistics project features compared to other projects
• ways of developing and methods of managing logistics projects
• features of different logistics projects
• means and stages of project work
• principles and ways of managing a project team

The student is able to
• initiate, plan and implement logistics projects within one company as well as with different companies and compose a project plan
• put together a project team and use the means of project work
• manage a logistics project in its different phases
• assess and analyze the final results of the project

Evaluation methods

The student must compose a logistics project and must be able to presentate it.

Note: Minimum positive grade - "satisfying" (2).
