Logistics manager’s job tasks. Logistics strategy of company. Logistics system of company. Development of company’s logistics system and competition ability. Logistic service to customers. Service level and service quality. Service quality measurement. Monitoring and measuring activities and processes. Risks and risk management in logistics and supply chain.

General aim

To give students knowledge about logistics manager’s tasks, the possibilities and methods to improve company’s competitiveness in logistics, monitoring and measuring activities as well as risks and risk management in logistics.

Aim

The student knows
• possibilities to develop customer servicing and to improve service level and quality
• possibilities and methods to manage company’s logistics operations in the coordinated and integrated way
• logistics manager’s tasks and responsibility
• ways and possibilities to plan company’s logistics strategy
• ways and possibilities to develop company’s competition ability

The student is able to
• plan and design the logistics system of company
• manage quality statistics and make quality analysis
• plan, design and implement monitoring and measurement system of processes
• analyze and assess different risks in supply chain and implement measures for decreasing risk levels

Evaluation methods

Assessment is based on the following partial results:
• test in interactive e-learning environment – 50%
• solving of tasks at the examination – 20%
• solving of tasks individually - 30%

Minimum positive grade - "satisfying" (2).
