General description

Logistics and supply chain management; overview of suply chain design; basics of supply chain, basic supply chain network design; the value of supply chain; supply chains systems; time cost in the supply chain; supply chain finance customer service within the supply chain; supply chain inventory management; replenishment methods; procurement, manufacturing, distribution process management; supply chain complexity; supply chain integration and outsourcing; risk management in the supply chain; global supply chain management.

General aim

The course covers main aspects involved in the design of supply chains for companies and organizations anywhere in the world. The course is divided into four main topic areas: physical flow design, supply chain finance, information flow design, and organization/process design. Moreover, understanding the dynamics and risks within supply chains, both large and small, is key to being a successful supply chain professional.

Aim

The student knows:
• how to design supply chain networks and flow;
• how to translate supply chain actions into financial terms;
• how to source and procure products and services;
• how to design a supply chain organization;
• how to evaluate supply chain risks;
• how to understand supply Chain Dynamics;
• how to perform efficient end-to-end supply chain management.

Form description

Course duration 16 weeks (stationary study); 4 academic sessions (distance learning). Web-based e-learning maximum by 50%, during the semester include contact classes minimum by 50% according to the teaching plan. Lecturing in the classroom; web-based e-learning, seminars (discussions, group work and individual tasks, practical exercises), written home assignment, classroom and interactive presentations via http: // zoom.us via the environment.

Evaluation methods

Evaluation method - exam. The final grade shares the results of the following:
1. There are two tests with open questions, each with a maximum of 20% of the final outcome.
2. Writing a paper on a topic that is coordinated with the lecturer and preparing an oral presentation through the http://zoom.us environment (making a video presentation with answering on additional questions); with a maximum of 20% of the final outcome.
3. The written exam in the form of a closed test questions and short tasks (maximum 40% of the final grade)

* Task related to adding and commenting the dictionary definitions of the concepts is compulsory.

* There is no chance to improve results of tests, but the student is able to take an exam with the weight of max 80% of the final outcome at the end of the course.
