General description

The basics of remote sensing. Digital cartography hardware and software usage. The process of composing maps.

General aim

The aim of the course is to give an overview of digital maps, composing principles, testing methods and usage.

Aim

Having passed the course successively the student:
- Is able to understand the process of composing maps;
- Knows how data is being digitalized and used;
- Is able to make the difference between raster end vector maps;
- Knows the technology of satellite imaging;
- Is able to use digital maps.

Evaluation methods

For the assessment a written test is used. In order to take the test students must take part in practical work and accomplish individual work. After passing the course positively (graded at least by “2”, satisfactory) the course is considered as passed.
