General description

Overview of traffic psychology. Traffic psychology role in traffic safety. Traffic psychology fundamental problems. Risk behaviour on the road and dangers. Driving styles and their differences. Impact on the behavior of the car models. Alcohol, its share of traffic and emerging challenges. Amateurs and professional drivers, and their behavior in traffic. Elderly drivers. Personalities from the behavior (impulsivity, aggression) and its effect on road safety. Intervention options.

General aim

The goal is to open definition and content of the traffic psychology, and provide an overview the factors of the human interaction on the road; to learn to analyse their own and other people's behaviour in traffic; to raise awareness the primary methods of getting ideas and how can calm the traffic, affecting various factors of people.

Aim

Student after completing the course is aware of history and bases of traffic psychology and modern studies of traffic psychology after completing the course; can evaluate significance of human factor in traffic safety; can analyse his own traffic activity and find the activities to lessen threats for other road users.He also can analyze the people behavior on the road and to find effective and systematic human psychology-related activities, which may be used to calm traffic. Student has obtained knowledge about practical activities in the field of traffic psychology.

Form description

The lecture, seminar, individual and group work, abstracting, presentation and demonstration, role-playing, and panel discussions, homework, and self-analysis. Test.
