Subject 'Technical Mechanics'Name in Estonian: Tehniline mehaanika
General descriptionA short overview is given about the methods of scientific research, laboratory equipment is learned and some concrete task is solved. It is usually group work. The following stages are passed: setting a task, creating a working hypothesis, designing a testing device, organising a test, generalising the test results, writing a report.
Introductory lectures in the classroom, learning laboratory equipment and independent work at making the equipment operational and making a test. General aimAs an elective subject technical mechanics is meant for the students who set an aim to deal more deeply with the construction science problems.
AimThe student who has passed the elective subject course:
- can independently use the testing equipment, meant for scientific research; - can set a research task and solve it with a supervisor. It is usually a preparation for the graduation thesis. LiteratureGetting familiar with previously accomplished lab tests.
