| General description |
A short overview is given about the methods of scientific research, laboratory equipment is learned and some concrete task is solved. It is usually group work. The following stages are passed: setting a task, creating a working hypothesis, designing a testing device, organising a test, generalising the test results, writing a report.
Introductory lectures in the classroom, learning laboratory equipment and independent work at making the equipment operational and making a test. |

| As an elective subject technical mechanics is meant for the students who set an aim to deal more deeply with the construction science problems. |

| Aim |
The student who has passed the elective subject course:
- can independently use the testing equipment, meant for scientific research;
- can set a research task and solve it with a supervisor. It is usually a preparation for the graduation thesis. |

Getting familiar with previously accomplished lab tests.
Lecturer will give literature according to need. |
