General descriptionLoads having an impact on masonry structures. Materials usable in masonry structures. Performance of masonry when carrying a load. Masonry deformation qualities. Standard and calculated strength of masonry. Calculating walls for vertical and horizontal loading. Buildings with elastic and rigid constructive scheme.
General aimThe objective of the course is to give an overview of the materials, used in masonry structures, their interrelated cooperation and design basics of masonry structures.
AimThe course provides within the framework of applied higher educational curriculum the students a theoretical preparation in the field of masonry structures. They can work as production managers at general constructional works at the level of a company manager, project leader or supervisor, as well as construction structures designers.
Form descriptionClassroom work: lectures and practical classes.
Independent work: in accordance with the basic data, provided by the lecturer, the student checks the bearing capacity of and exterior load-bearing wall of a four-storey building.
