General description

An overview of standard documents, instructions and other supplementary materials. Practical usage of technical mechanics in design. Design basics of building structures. Properties of materials and products. Values of geometric parameters. Loads of building structures.

General aim

The objective of the course is to provide the students knowledge about the basics of design. Among other things additional standard documents, necessary for designing steel structures are studied.

Aim

Having passed the course the students:
- must know how to use and interrelate standard documents, necessary for
designing and relate them to those documents that concern steel
structures.

Form description

Theoretical basics is learned at lectures. As homework problems are solved.
