Subject 'Repair and Renovation Works'

Overview of the building history of wooden, stone and panel buildings and specific features of repairs. Examination and evaluation of the technical state of buildings, demolition works. Strengthening and repair of foundations and walls. Replacement and repair of water insulations and inserted ceilings. Renovation and repair of the thermal-humidity conditions of pents and flat roofs, repair of facades, renovation of large- panel buildings, concrete corrosion problems.

The objective of the course is to provide the students knowledge about the repair and renovation works of old buildings, their methods, processes that cause damages and main renovation solutions.

The student:
1. knows definitions and specifics related to repair and renovation works, and to knows which additional data needed and sources.
2. know the basic research methods and equipment;
3. knows basic types of damages of stone, concrete and wooden structures.
4. can give an evaluation of a technical state, the impact of other structures and give main renovation solutions.
