Subject 'Industrial Controllers'Name in Estonian: Tööstuskontrollerite programmeerimine
General descriptionIn this course, the build and peculiarities of programming and operation of industrial controllers will be studied. The student will obtain basic knowledge about programming controllers and will execute solutions based on given problems and tasks. Managing automatic systems with discrete and analog signals. Students will learn how to use timers, disruptions, counters, math and logic and comparative operators. In addition to basic knowledge, the more specific settings of controllers will be studied. Network based solutions like PROFINET and MODBUS-TCP will be used.
General aimTo give base knowledge and practical experience to be able to create, use, and program systems based on programmable industrial controllers. To give an overview of the build and peculiarities of controllers. To give knowledge on how to interface signals with controllers. To give knowledge about network solutions used on controllers.
AimThe student should:
Know the build, interfaces, and operation principles of controllers; programming languages and their basics; Know how to program industrial controllers using ladder diagrams, function blocks, and commands; Know how to create user interfaces using HMI (Human-Machine Interaction) screens; Know how to create network connections between controllers and industrial equipment.
