Is purchasing and procurement management a new topic for you?
This course gives you the opportunity to learn about the best principles and best practices used in purchasing and procurement.

General aim

In general, this course is designed to give you an introduction to purchasing and procurement, to understand the practices of successful organizations and how to put them into practice in your workplace. After passing the subject, you are ready to contribute to purchasing projects in a professional way and obtain greater value and performance from your suppliers.

Aim

The student knows and able to apply on practice:
• Definitions of Purchasing and procurement
• Specifications and stakeholder involvement
• Can choose suppliers
• Basis of contract terms
• Principles of suppliers management
- Can apply the acquired knowledge in practice

Assessment is based on the following partial results:
• test in interactive e-learning environment – 50%
• solving of tasks – 40%
• reviewing an article published in professional journal- 10%

• Explain the elements of best practice purchasing and procurement – what good practice looks like.
• Develop specifications for goods or services with stakeholders, with increased confidence and accuracy.
• Identify quality standards and performance criteria at an early stage.
• Choose the best purchasing approach and tools to use for a particular situation.
• Manage terms and conditions effectively as part of a purchasing negotiation.
• Use simple and effective processes and measures to get the best out of your chosen suppliers.
