General description

AutoCad inquiry tools, extracting information, finding the center of area for regions. AutoCad 3D modeling Basics. Entering 3D coordinates. Creating Views. Parallel and Perspective view. Types of 3D objects. Wireframe, Surface and solid. Commands for creating and modifying 3D solid primitives and more complex solids. Post processing, dimensioning and creating Layouts.
Analytical modeling of building structures. Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Proffesional software. User interface, project definition, preparation model geometry, supports, releases, creating and applying loads. Creating a manual load case combinations. Structure analysis. Visualizing results, diagrams for bars. Setting up printouts.

General aim

To teach the basics of 3D modeling of building structures, give an overview of related software. BIM according to field of application of architect and structural engineer. Using Autodesk Robot Structural Engineering software and to verify results of calculations.

Aim

Student should be able:
• to determine a center of area and the area moments of inertia in AutoCad
• to use AutoCAD software for solving several 2D and 3D engineering tasks
• to use the Autodesk Robot software and to verify results of calculations

Llectures on practical classes, independent tasks

Evaluation methods

The course ends with a written exam. The course will be considered to passed when the final grade will be "satisfactory" (2).
