Introduction to Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the construction sector. EN 15978: LCA stages in construction. Impact assessment categories. Case studies.

The course provides in-depth training on building life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology and practical experience.

Students who have successfully passed the course:
1. understand the principles of LCA calculation based on EN15978 standard, and its relevance in the construction sector;
2. understand the key benefits and challenges of the application of LCA;
3. are able to complete an LCA study based on a simple model using an LCA software;
4. can put together a basic LCA report that includes an analysis of the results.

The independent work consists of gaining the knowledge provided through lectures and homework. Independent work is assessed by the non-distinctive assessment method, meaning the assignments must be done correctly.
