General description

Development of production. Production quality, production systems, standardization, human resources.
Different production types: massproduction, single production. Critical chain from order to shipment.
Management, leadership, team, motivation, company structure.
MRP, ERP, production planning, key variables in production, production schedule, production order, PDCA, efficiency, cost, cost efficiency, logistics.
Order quantity and freaquency. Warehousing. TPS, TOC.

General aim

To give overview of production development, methods, problems and value added processes. Also to give overview of production role in economy and to give basic knowledge about management

Aim

Student can understand the processes in production and has a basic knowledge of the management and leadership. Can use planning techniques and is able to analyze and lead a production unit.

Form description

Lectures, seminars, case studies, group tasks and individual tasks.

Evaluation methods

Written grade prelim.
Handing in and presenting hometasks is prerequisite for prelim. With hometasks students have to show the capabilities to find and solve the problems by applying new knowledge.
The final grade is sum of hometasks and prelim.

„5“ – „Excellent“. Hometasks are handed in on time and solved correctly. Student knows how to implement studied material both at work and in private life (91-100% acquired).

„4“– „Very good“. Hometasks are handed in on time and solved correctly. Student will be able to carry-over studied material from curriculum by using analogy. (81-90% acquired).

„3“ – „Good“. There are minor mistakes and imprecisions in hometask solutions. Knows how to use acquired material, but has deficiencies in analysis or applications (71-80% acquired).

„2“ – „Satisfactory“. Hometasks are handed in, but there are mistakes and miscalculations. Knows theory but has difficulties with applications (61-70% acquired).

„1“ – „Week“. Many mistakes and miscalculations with some fundamental errors in hometasks. Major deficiencis both in analysis and applications (51-60% acquired).

„0“ (F) – „Fail“. Hometasks not handed in or solved incorrectly. Inadequate theoretical knowledge and poor skill of application (0-50% acquired).
