Subject 'Technology of Sewing Products I'Name in Estonian: Õmblustehnoloogia I
General descriptionStudents are taught to compile technological sequences of sewn products, processing for mass production, batch and for made-to-order sewing; to choose rational methods of clothing processing and to describe the technological process; to sew the main details of light clothes (collars, pockets, fasteners etc.).
General aimTo provide classical and up-to-date knowledge about the progressive sewing technologies of light clothes, to train to analyze and to choose suitable conditions of sewing processing; to train the skills to apply the knowledge in practical work.
AimOn completion of the course students should know the sequence of light clothes processing, work operations and methods as well as rational assembling schemes; be able to choose technological equipment; and optimal regimes of hydro-thermal treatment and detail fusing; be able to sew the details of light clothes following the right sequence of clothing processing and technology; to use proper terminology.
Form descriptionRequired knowledge in sewing technologies is provided during the lectures. Practical abilities are obtained during laboratory works. Testing of knowledge is executed at the examination at the end of the course.
