General aim

To give students necessary knowledge about sourcing and purchasing field – managing purchasing process, offers composing, offers comparison, contracting, suppliers evaluation and selection.

• purchasing strategies and policies
• achievement of purchasing activities
• ordering systems and methods
• purchasing negotiation principles
• tracking and managing of supplies and evaluating supplier performance
• possibilities to increase purchasing process efficiency
• relation between purchasing and inventory management

The student is able to
• suitable purchasing strategy and policy according the needs
• identify purhase need and to determine purchasing criterions
• compose inquiries, compare offers and identify the best offer
• prepare sourcing and purchasing contracts
• calculate total cost of ownership

Assessment is based on the following partial results:
• test in interactive e-learning environment – 50%
• solving of tasks – 40%
• reviewing an article published in professional journal- 10%
