General description

Practical project preparation on the basis of theoretical knowledge acquired in other subjects, especially in business planning experience. Practical projects. The organization of project work. Project planning. The draft of action plan and a timetable for implementing aims of a project. Communication within project management (internal and external). Project manager job in practice. The project work tools. Project control. The project's completion.

General aim

The overall course objective is to give an overview of project management, project planning and basic knowledge of the terminology. Learn about project management and project specifics, develop the ability to see opportunities of project work related to the major field activities and project-management options.

The specific objectives of the course (TL group):
1. Develop practical experience in project planning and implementation.
2. Organiza annual spring conference Logisitikaseminar.

Aim

After completing the course student is:
1. aware of necessary competencies of a project team leader and members of the in projec; is familiar with specific management features, and is able to use a variety of project management techniques;
2. able to analyze and develop the project team's work and to choose the team members;
3. able to draw up a project application;
4. can solve emerging problems and conflicts during project work process, as well as introduce changes, use of project work opportunities in professional work;
5. is able to use necessary data tech communication facilities within project work process, and is capable of using acquired specialist knowledge in practice.
6. sees the relationships and dependencies between the activities and the project participants,
7. feels the co-responsibility and is able to contribute to a comprehensive outcome.

Form description

Course duration 16 weeks. Classroom meetings in the form of seminars (discussions, presentations), independent work, fixed term project assignments.

Evaluation methods

Evaluation method - graded assessment. The final grade shares the results of the following: written home assignments (5% + 20% + 40%); final assessment (25%); presentation of the project (10%).

As a result of the course the project team of 3. year students organize annual event Logistics Seminar. Each student's final grade will shape base on mutual evaluation reports (50%) and student’s individual selfanalysis (50%).
