Subject 'Engineering Practice'Name in Estonian: Inseneripraktika
General descriptionEngineering Practice goal is to gain practical experience in the field of electricity-related businesses, and collect the needed information for the diploma work.
One or more activities should be included in the following areas during the Engineering Practice: 1) participation in the design and production of electrotechnical products (switchgear, switchboards, cables, motors, luminaires and other electrotechnical equipment, systems and components); 2) participation in design activities of electricity, automation and low current projects, including the work with the technical documentation (drawings, technical regulations, technologies, etc.); 3) practical activities in companies with the core activity of power networks (high, medium or low voltage networks) or companies dealing with the installation of indoor electrical systems; 4) practical activities in companies with the core activitiy of (industrial) automation installations; 5) practical activities in companies dealing with the electrical operation or maintenance; 6) practical activities in companies dealing with the trading of the electrical energy (NB! The practical activity must be related with an electrotechnical area!) 7) practical activities in companies dealing with low current area, such as building automation systems, security systems, communication systems etc.); 8) Customer consulting in the field of electrical or (industrial) automation products; 9) The quality control of electrotechnical materials, components and products. General aimThe main aim of the Engineering Practice is to get practical experience in the companies related with electrical sector.
AimThe student has acquired the first practical work experience in the selected practice area, has understanding of operations and work routine within a company, has gained experience in communicating with customers, suppliers, partners, acquired practical knowledge in the electrical engineering field.
