General description

CADS Planner Electric is the most comprehensive and most widely used CAD software in Estonia, which covers different areas of the electrical and automation designing, including buildings, industrial electric, automation and external power networks.

General aim

The practical course of the CADS Planner Electric software introduces the variety of uses for electricity, automation, and low-current design projects, including 2D and 3D design, the concept of BIM (Building Information Modeling).

Aim

This course is a prerequisite subject to the of the following subjects:

MET252 Project I
MET256 Project II
MET260 Design of the Power Supply;
MET254 Design of Low Current Systems;
MET255 Design of Automation Systems.

Completion of the course gives knowledge about working with the specialized software and skills to draw up the above given projects.

Evaluation methods

The course ends with the practical work, which is the basis for the graded assessment.
