Subject 'Engineering Practice'Name in Estonian: Inseneripraktika
General descriptionWorking in a civil construction, road construction or geodetic company in a position that requires a surveying engineering education. Getting acquainted with the structure of the company. Performing field and indoor works. Conducting a project on a specific topic. Compiling a report of the practice.
General aimThe objective of the engineering practice is that the students deepen the theoretical knowledge and master practical skills directly in a geodesy (construction) company.
AimHaving passed the engineering practice successfully the student:
- is aware of the structure and financial-economical organisation of the company; - is able to carry out, describe and analyse geodetic works; - is able to use geodetic instruments; - holds professional communication skills and IT technological knowledge necessary for the work. Evaluation methodsFor the assessment the student must submit the engineering practice report, the evaluation letter by the mentor from the company and defend its conducted project work. The assessment ends with the examination in engineering science, which consists of problem tasks. After passing the assessment process positively (graded at least by “2”, satisfactory) the subject is considered as passed.
