General description

Overview of the formation of towns and the beginning of urban design. Towns in the Middle Ages. Social processes and their influence on urban environment in ancient towns and fortification towns of the Middle Ages.

General aim

To give an overview of the history of formation of towns and town planning from the first settlements to the Middle Ages.

Aim

Students having completed the course know the principles of history of urban design and the factors affecting it, the social processes which have directed the urban design most.
