General description

Environmental problems in the world, Estonia and the Baltic Sea region. The history and development of environmental protection, environmental policy and international cooperation. Environmental administrative institutions in the European Union and Estonia. Laws and development plans of the Republic of Estonia. International agreements. Public notification and inclusion. Increasing environmental awareness in society.

General aim

The objective of the course is to introduce the history of the development of environmental protection and modern forms and means of environmental protection.

Aim

Student:
- can tell the difference between natural and anthropogenic processes;
- knows the history and institutions of environmental protection and the main directions of environmental policy.
