General descriptionDuring the practical training the student will perform specific work tasks assigned to him/her by a responsible specialist from the enterprise.
The student may perform different work tasks in the following fields: • transportation and forwarding – transport organizer, forwarder • warehousing – warehouse manager’s or warehouse keeper’s assistant • purchasing and inventory management – purchasing agent’s assistant, purchase manager’s assistant • customer service – customer administrator’s assistant, customer service manager’s assistant • production and material management – material manager’s assistant, production planner’s assistant • logistics manager’s assistant • supply chain manager’s assistant General aimThe goal of the practical training is to deepen students’ professional knowledge and skills in solving routine tasks of logistics. The practical training will help to form proper attitudes towards responsible performing of work tasks. Students will expand their knowledge of company’s organizational culture, organizational behaviour and improve teamwork skills.
During the practical training the student will get acquainted with • impacts the state’s economic environment has had on the company in recent years • work arrangement in the company • products and/or services offered • organization structure and hierarchy • company’s business strategy, customer service strategy and logistics strategy • competition environment where the company is operating • company’s logistics system and work arrangement in the field of logistics • company’s supply system, supply chain management and logistics management activities AimThe student
• knows the goals of company’s work; • knows the products and/or services provided by the company; • is familiar with the basic processes of the company; • knows how the company’s customer service process is functioning; • is aware of the interrelations between company’s business strategy, marketing strategy and logistics strategy; • is familiar with company’s quality processes and quality management system; • knows the company’s logistics system and work arrangement in the field of logistics; • knows company’s supply system and supply chain management; • is familiar with the work tasks that he/she had to perform during the practical training. During the practical training the student will master the basic skills in the fields of transportation, warehousing, purchasing, inventory management, customer service, administration of logistics activities as well as material management or production planning Form descriptionPractical training.
LiteratureEngineering Practical Training Guidelines of the TTK/UAS.
The student will compose the practical training report (12-15 pages), forming it according to the rules of TTK UAS written papers. For composing the written report the student must collect necessary information during the practical training. The total length of the practical training report parts 6,7and 8 must be at least 4 pages. The student will present the report to the TTK UAS supervisor within the first 2 weeks of the new semester. Evaluation methodsThe practical training will be completed by defending the practical training report. The board will assess the practical training as “passed” or “failed“ according to the following criteria:
• The members of the board are convinced by reading the student’s report and listening to his/her presentation that the student did work in the company and acquired new knowledge and skills there • The practical training report conforms to the content requirements and the rules of TTK UAS written papers • The company’s supervisor has given a positive evaluation to the student’s practical training.
