General description

Standards of the design.
Loads of the building structures.
Properties of steel. Work with steel-related standard documents. Principles for calculation of steel structures. Calculation of the ultimate and serviceability limit state. Connections of steel structures. Plane steel structures. Guaranteeing the structural stability. Production and monitoring of steel structures. Basis of fire protection. Steel structures of buildings.

General aim

The objective of the course is to provide the students knowledge for the design of simpler steel structures and skills for the use of the respective standard documents.

Aim

Having passed the course the student must be able to use standard documents and design mostly spread steel structures.
