General descriptionFerroconcrete bridges, metal and timber bridges, prestressed bridges. Methods of prestressing and fittings anchoring. Arch and rigid frame bridges. suspension and cable stayed bridges. Pedestrian bridges. Constructions of beams. Static schemes, materials used. Pillars. Connecting to the embankment, construction of deformation joints and retaining elements. Specifics of the calculations related to different types of bridges. Bridge construction strengthening. Construction organising and technology.
General aimThe aim of the course is to give students knowledge concerning different types of bridges (viaducts) - beam bridges, girder bridges, arch and rigid frame bridges, suspension and cable stayed bridges. The course aslo includes the spesifics of different calculations.
AimAfter mastering the course the students will know the basic calculation methods related to different types of bridges and be able to carry out practical tasks realated to mentioned facilities.
Form descriptionDuring lectures the theoretical basis of designing is gained and sample tasks are made. Composing synopis. Examination in written form.
