The notion of a digital map. Map digitization. Basics of telemetry. Aero photo. Digital photo technology. Digital cartography equipment and its handling. Map composition process. Use of digital photogrammetry in Estonia

General aim

The objective of the course is to give an overview of digital maps and also how to compile, update, test and use them

Aim

Having passed the course the student knows how to compile a map. S/he knows hoaw to digitalise and update maps. The student can make the difference between screen and vector maps, knows the technology of satellite pictures, s/he masters the use of digital maps.
