Subject 'Spatial Planning II'Name in Estonian: Ruumiline planeerimine II
General descriptionThe course contains a theoretical part - lectures - and a practical part - a term project on detailed planning in the form of preliminary design. The project includes the analysis of the location and the preliminary design proceeding from it, taking into consideration the existing housing, urban landscaping and road map. The work also includes suitable urban design and traffic solutions. The architectural planning is presented on a survey sheet and a model.
General aimTo introduce the needs and initial principles of designing detailed plannings. To introduce the substantial part of the detailed planning and its execution.
AimStudents after completing the course - a series of lectures and a term project - have got an overview of the needs and significance of planning projects in designing the environment.
Form descriptionAt the lectures the main focus is on teaching the planning process as the process of designing environment. Lectures focus on the role of spatial planning in designing environment and the importance of architectural idea in that process. The instruction is participated by all the students to drill the skills of team-work and presentation of their own ideas. Lectures will give an overview of legislation and other regulatory aspects of town planning. The term project is reviewed in three interim stages during which the students will present their ideas in front of their course-mates.
