General descriptionA general overview of Estonian national costume. National costume of the 11-16th centuries. Innovations in the 17 - 18th centuries; national costume of the 19th century; peculiarities of the national costumes of different regions of Estonia. A national costume set for a woman/a man.
General aimA course from the DESIGN module. The course aims at the preparation of students for independent creative work of designing and creating garments. To provide theoretical knowledge of Estonian national costume and skills of using it in clothes design; to develop the students' creativity and sense of style.
AimOn completion of the course a student knows the history and development of the Estonian national costume; makes a distinction between the national costumes of different regions ; is able to use the knowledge in his/her creative activity.
