General description

Logistics as a way of thinking, connection to other fields of economy. Essence of logistics as an interdisciplinary subject. Formation and trends of logistics. The structure of logistics. Logistic systems and activities. The main factors and stages of updating logistics. The general conception of logistics. Different logistics approaches . Logistics and customer service. Logistics as a means of achieving a competence advatage. The profession of a logistician.

General aim

The aim of the course is to give an overview of logistics as an interdisciplinary field of activity, its essence, basic principles and development stages.

Aim

After having completed the course, students must know the essence of logistics, be familiar with the basic notions and definitions of logistics, know the key words of logistica, be familiar with logistics problems and the ways of solving them.

Form description

Lectures, group work, independent work on a given topic, home assignments.
