Subject 'Work Principles of Internal Combustion Engine'Name in Estonian: Sisepõlemismootori teooria
General descriptionThermodynamic calculation of internal combustion engines. Kinematics and dynamics of crank gear. Systems and mechanisms of engines. Characteristics, testing and choice of engines. Tuning principles of rally engines. Need for sensors and actuators to opetate Otto and Diesel engines. Need for VTEC systems. Clean of diesel exhaust gases.
General aimThe aim of the course is to provide professional knowledge about: thermodynamic processes of internal combustion engines; survey of kinematics and dynamics of piston engines crank gear; characteristics and testing of engines.
AimStudent after completing the course understands the thermodynamic processes occurring in internal combustion engine; modifies different parameters of engine according to the purpose of using engine; is able to handle diagnostic equipment of engine and simulation programs of engines operating process.
