General descriptionStatistical overview about traffic safety; knows traffic components, problems of traffic safety, the methods of their prevention/decreasing considering European Best practice. Target groups in traffic. Peculiarities of target groups. Traffic safety program of Estonia and other regulatives of Estonian traffic. The concept of assisting systems and their role in traffic safety.
General aimThe aim of the course is to provide knowledge about traffic safety: overview about driverŽs physiology, bases of vehicleŽs dynamics and safe driving methods in different driving conditions; principles of choosing the safe way of driving in traffic; bases of traffic behaviour and efficient driving.
AimStudent after completing the course is aware of Estonian and European main traffic safety problems; at his everyday work is able to proceed from the principle activities in decreasing the number of killed and injured people; knows the different ways of cooperation between the European enterprises dealing with traffic safety; is able to evaluate independently dangers in traffic and therefore be a good example to society.
