Formatting technical drawings. Formats. Types of lines. Scale. Normative font. Title blocks. Transferring measurements. Three view. Projection of a point on three screens. Straight line. Positions of a straight line in the space. Plane. Axonometry. Geometrical bodies. Axonometry. A point on the surface of a body. Representation ways. Views. Constructing a three view on the basis of a two view, transferring measurements to an image. Sections. Simple sections. Half view section. Marking sections. Constructing a three view with necessary sections on the basis of an axonometric image. Additional and local views. A brought-out element. Simplifications. Special cases of sections (forbidden sections). Local section. Cross-section.
Compound sections (step- and fold section).

General aim

- developing three dimensional imagination;
- providing knowledge about the valid standards for making and reading technical drawings;
- forming the skill and proficiencies of making and reading technical drawings through practical activity.

Aim

Student having passed the course:
- has an overview of standards and knows how to handle reference material;
- knows the norms that deal with formatting technical drawings and types of representation;
- commands the drawing technique;
- can make technical drawings in accordance with valid norms;
- can read technical drawings.
