The concept and history of quality. Development of quality standards.
ISO 9001-2008. 8 principles of quality management.
Economic aspects of quality. Quality related costs. Stages of quality system formation.
Quality in the design process. Possible errors in the product development process.
Quality system elements in apparel manufacturing.
Application of quality techniques in apparel manufacturing.
Certification of quality systems. Accreditation. Audit.

General aim

The aim of the course is to provide general knowledge about quality management in enterprises in order to be able to understand the structure and nature of the quality management system.

Aim

On completion of the course a student is aware of the principles and aims of the quality system application, and is able to use these in his/her work.

Lectures in lecture rooms and enterprises. Practical assignments. Writing essays.
