Subject 'Production of Textile Materials'

Students obtain knowledge about textile technology, production methods of clothing materials and about weaving and knitting as well as about production of yarns and sewing threads, their classification and properties.

To provide knowledge about the fundamentals of textile technology and clothing materials production methods; to provide knowledge about weaving and knitting, structure and finishing of clothing materials.

On completion of the course the students should be able to know clothing materials structure and properties; structure and manufacturing method; to know the assortment and characteristics of yarns and sewing threads.

The knowledge is provided during the lectures and individual work using visual demonstration aids and investigating real clothing materials. Cognitive and practical abilities are obtained during laboratory works. The level of obtained abilities is evaluated in the process of making reports for laboratory works. The level of the students' knowledge is evaluated at an examination.
