Subject 'Workshop Practice in Machining'Name in Estonian: Metallide lõiketöötluse praktika
General descriptionOperating principles of machine tools. Familiarising with machining process. Machining methods on lathe: turning of internal and external surfaces, taper turning, tapping, grooving and cutoff. Sharpening of cutting tools. Machining with hand and mechanical feed. Fox lathe. Fixing of cutting tools and workpieces in milling machine, milling machine control. Milling of planes and inclined planes. Drilling of openings in lathe and drilling machine. Obtaining machining technology working on different machine tools. Obtaining dimensioning of accurate planes with measuring instruments.
General aimThe aim of the practical training is to get primary knowledge and experience while processing various surfaces on different machine tools.
AimStudent after completing the practical training knows the aim and content of machining; is able to compile operation chart and make details working on lathe, milling, drilling and surface-grinding machines; is able to process internal and external surfaces, to accomplish roughing and semi-finishing of different surfaces; is able to make complicated details on milling machine and cutting threads with lathe tool on universal lathe; knows the regulations of exploitation and safety of machine tools.
