Mechanism and machine. Evolution of machine element design. Reliability. Shafts and axles. Joints of shafts and naves. Bearings and sealing. Mechanical transmissions. Gearing. Worm gears. Chain and belt drives. Sews and fasteners. Welded joints. Couplings.

General aim

The subject is to give knowledge about design of typical machine elements, about principals of their work, classification, failure reasons, fundamentals of analysis and calculations and design methods.

Approximately 1,5 hours of lectures and 1 exercise-lesson a week
