General description

Speech developing exercises. Texts on speciality - reading, reviewing, commenting. Writing summaries and annotations. A business letter. Translation of instructions and manuals.
Topics: The TTK/UAS. Future profession. Engineers' ethics. Achievements in engineering and future trends. Topical environmental issues. Estonia in the developing world. Work safety. A company - presentation.
Grammar: Tense forms of the verb. Infinitive. Declension of nouns.
Independent work: 20000 characters of home reading text on speciality.

General aim

The course is for the students having finished the Russian-speaking secondary schools, and who need extra language study to be able to understand lectures in Estonian.
The objective of the course is to expand the students' special vocabulary, develop the skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, and to give the competence of being able to participate in the lectures delivered in the Estonian language.

Aim

After completing the course students are able to understand and
communicate both orally and in the written form in the field of the practised topics.

The texts and exercises compiled by the lecturer.
