Notions: limestone and dolostone. How limestone was formed, its main types of formation. Spread of limestone in the world. Main properties of limestone and its usage possibilities as construction stone, ways of processing. Meaning of limestone in Estonian national culture.

The objective of the course is to give the students an overview of limestone as Estonian national stone and construction stone, its processing and usage possibilities.

Having passed the course the student:
- can and determine the usage and processing possibilities of different layers of limestone;
- has necessary knowledge about limestone as Estonian national stone.
