General description

Main physical-mechanical properties of steel. Steel structures-related standard documents. Computation in bearing and service limit state. Plane steel structures. Joints. Steel building structures and bridges.

General aim

The objective of the course is to provide the students knowledge for designing steel structures and skills for the use of respective standard documents.

Aim

Having passed the course the students:
- must know how to use standard documents and dimension as well as design the more spread steel structures.

Form description

In lectures theoretical basics of design is covered and sample tasks are solved. Knowledge is tested with a written exam.
