Legal basics, used terms, sources of information.
AEI in practice in Estonia.
Establishing of alternatives and their treatment, assessment criteria, structure of reports.
AEI distinctions, legal basics of the strategic assessment of the environmental impact, classification of plans, strategies, programmes and planning and the identification of the necessity to assess the impact that accompanies them.

The objective of the course is to provide an overview of the nature and stages of environmental impact assessment.

Student:
- knows the principle notions and stages of the assessment of environmental impacts and
- orientates in the valid legislation that regulates this issue.
