Notion of spatial planning. Legislation related to planning. Planning classification. About the critical role of detail planning in the development of the built environment. Composition of a detail planning design. Process of creating a plan –from the start to validation. Drawings. Terminology.
The course is composed of a theoretical part and shorter and longer practical assignments.
The students take part in at least one seminar and publicly defend their planning work in front of other students.

The objective of the course is to teach students the basics of environmental planning, to give them the skills to read maps and plans involved in planning, and to compose independently a simpler site plan under the guidance of an instructor.

Having passed the course the student:
- has basic knowledge in planning;
- can read different maps and plans and
- draw up independently simpler site plans.
