Subject 'History of Architecture I'Name in Estonian: Arhitektuuri ajalugu I
General descriptionThe history of architecture (part I) gives an overview of the history of architecture from pre-historic time to the end of classical antiquity: pre-historic architecure, Mesopotamian, Egiptian, Cretan-Mycenae and Greece architecture. Etruscan and Roman architecture. The most important architectural monuments are introduced.
General aimThe course is a link between various subjects of applied architecture where the different periods in the development of visual art-culture are learned to determine and define, as well as observation and evaluation of architectural monuments.
AimStudent having passed the course has acquired profound knowledge of the history of art and architecture.
