AimThe general objective of the applied higher education curriculum is the preparation of the student for work in the chosen speciality. The task of the modules of general education and basic subjects of the curriculum is to develop the general educational basis and social maturity of the students. The acquisition of professional knowledge and skills takes place via theoretical subjects and practical classes, given in the curriculum, and through carrying out practical trainings in enterprises (working environment).
The curriculum of the Fashion Engineering is universal and allows to work in modern sewing and / or textile manufacturing or sales companies in various professional positions, depending on the specialization. Specialisation on technical design provides the skills to compile technical documentation and make patterns, using modern technical equipment and computer programmes. Specialisation on technology gives a deeper knowledge of product development, design and control a production process, organise work and study work processes, using contemporary computer programmes. The speciality of resource management gives the specialist knowledge of textiles, sewing and purchasing and selling operations in this field. QualificationBachelor of Science in Engineering

Learning outcomesThe student who has passed the curriculum in full amount has the following competencies:
- is ready to work and co-operate in the field of apparel industry; shows initiative and responsibility for one´s work; - masters the necessary communication and management skills; - has an extensive knowledge of apparel field, knows the related problems, can analyse them and offer different solutions; - is familiar with the basics of entrepreneurship, arrangement of production, management and economics; - is familiar with the properties of textile materials, technological processes and equipment; - depending on the specialisation has deep knowledge of technical design or technology and project management; - can use the basics of engineering calculations in product development, in designing and using technical systems; - can obtain, analyse and use information; - is familiar with professional info-technology and CAD/CAM systems; - can apply the obtained knowledge and skills in one´s own professional activity; - is able to constantly and independently refresh one´s own professional knowledge.
