practical training and graduation thesis Learning outcomesAfter completing the curriculum in the full amount the student has the following competences:
- has a systematic overview of the railway infrastructure and engineering, railway traffic and its safety, rail transport technology and management; - knows the topical problems in the work organization and management of a railway enterprise, and is able to solve them; - is able to define and analyze the bottlenecks and problems existing in haulage safety and environmental protection, and can assess different solutions; - can use relevant methods and means for gathering information independently, is able to interpret it critically and in a creative way; - shows initiative in launching projects, has responsibility, management and teamwork skills necessary to implement projects; - possesses the necessary communication skills as well as knowledge of information and communication technologies; - is able to express the problems related to railway and railway transport in the Estonian language and at least in one foreign language both orally and in writing, can participate in professional discussions; - is ready to participate actively in civil society and is tolerant of diverse attitudes and values; - can consider community and ethical aspects in assessing the impact of his/her professional activity in the society; - is ready to put the acquired knowledge and skills in practice, acting as manager or specialist in the field of specialty; - is capable of self-improvement in the field of specialty and profession.
