Aim

The general objective of the applied higher education curriculum is to prepare the students for work in the chosen specialty. The task of the modules of general education and basic subjects of the curriculum is to develop the general educational basis and social maturity of the students. The acquisition of professional knowledge and skills takes place via theoretical subjects and practical classes, given in the curriculum, and through carrying out practical trainings in enterprises (working environment).
The professional knowledge and skills of the graduates provide professional competency enabling them to work as supervisors and specialists with constantly changing road transport technology, mainly in the field of sales, maintenance and repair.
Possibility for continuation of studies at master’s level.

Possibility to continue in Master’s Degree programs. Possibility to apply for Automotive Engineer level 6 qualification.

Learning outcomes

The curriculum is based on the occupational qualification standards for Automotive Engineers, level 6 (EstQf)

A student who has fully passed the curriculum has the following competence:
- has systematic overview of automotive terms, theoretical principles and research methods;
- recognizes challenges of the field and provides solutions;
- can individually find information about car construction, maintenance and repair using appropriate methods and equipment; can critically analyze and creatively interpret it and understand possible causes;
- shows initiative for starting projects and is able to participate in project teamwork;
- is able to communicate with colleagues and clients;
- possesses information and communication techniques necessary to work in the specialty;
- is able to use professional language to express oneself orally and in writing discussing topics related to cars in one’s native and at least one foreign language;
- has a good command of professional terminology and syntactic knowledge;
- plans and executes vehicle fleet management;
- works independently in various situations;
- manages and provides guidance to employees;
- takes responsibility for the outcome of own and others' efforts;
- disseminates knowledge and skills to further sustainable development;
- is capable to constantly and individually improve competencies required by the specialty and job position.
