Professional knowledge in the implementation of sustainable and environmentally friendly measures in transport
General aim
- satisfying peoples need for mobility
- providing safe and economical transport services
- designing the basic conditions for a sustainable transport system
- a comparison of different modes of transport in terms of environmental sustainability
- developments in future trends in transport policy
Aim
Student:
- is familiar with the tasks set by the European Union in shaping sustainable transport policy
- knows the main harmful effects of transport
- is able to objectively assess the environmental impacts of freight and passenger transport and possibilities in urban transport
- knows possible measures to make vehicles more economical and fuel-efficient
- knows the emission standards for the means of transport
- knows the principles of cost-effective and environmentally friendly transport schemes and technologies
