Methods of punching and their characterization. Cutting punches, fine cutting punches, bending punches, tensile punches. Design of punches and their calculation. Calculation of forces. Standard constructions of punches, their sub-assemblies and parts. Precision of manufacture of parts. Materials for parts of punches. Process requirements for construction of punches. Hard metal punches and their special characteristics.
Pressing methods of plastics. Mold presses, their classification and characterization. Comparison of design and construction of different mold presses.
Testing of knowledge in the form of practical exercises and tests

| The aim of the course is to introduce methods of sheeting cold-working and methods of pressing and injection molding of plastics. |

| The student who has mastered this course has an overview of the methods of sheeting cold-working. Cutting punches, fine cutting punches, bending punches, tensile punches, their working processes and design. Is able to prescribe necessary forces for punching. Knows the manufacturing process of plastics in pressing and injection molding methods and knows the used mold presses. |
